About Us

The Ekiti Diaspora Relations Office is a government-backed initiative established to strengthen relationships between Ekiti State and its diaspora community worldwide.

Our Vision

To create an enabling environment that will be conducive to foster cooperation, integration and support of Ekiti in diaspora for the growth and development of Ekiti State. Ekiti State Diaspora Relations office shall be established with the mission to serve the interests of Ekiti indigenes living abroad, fostering a sense of belonging and coordinating their participation in the social and economic development of Ekiti State. On the other hand, it aims to identify, organize, and engage Ekiti indigenes in Diaspora, enabling them to contribute significantly to the welfare and progress of the State.

The Directorate envisions a future where Ekiti indigenes worldwide are actively engaged in the development of Ekiti State. It aims to create a strong and supportive network that encourages collaboration between the government and the diaspora community, leading to sustainable growth and prosperity for all.

Our Mission

To initiate and execute policies needed to identify, harness, effectively engage and maximize the potentials of Ekitis in the diaspora through the existing networks and organisations. 


We will deploy the human capital, intellectual and natural resources of Ekitis in the diaspora for the growth and development of our socio-economic, cultural and political space.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji's radiant leadership

Governor Biodun Oyebanji has made a significant impact in governance, impressing the people of Ekiti with his innovative and dynamic approach. He’s been proactive, assertive, and decisive, disrupting the status quo and promoting a politics-free-from-bitterness governance style. Oyebanji has also built strong relationships with various stakeholders, including former governors, traditional rulers, opposition leaders, the Diaspora and ordinary citizens.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji is a compassionate leader with a deep love for Ekiti State and its people. His humility, creativity, and passion for excellence has driven his administration’s numerous achievements. Oyebanji’s background as Secretary of the State Creation Committee and Secretary of the Ekiti State Development Fund has equipped him with a unique understanding of the state’s needs. 

The government has distributed grants of N400 million to 922 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and sponsored CAC certificates for 5,400 MSMEs. In the education sector, over 2,000 teachers have been recruited, and classrooms in 203 public schools have been renovated or constructed. The government has also paid counterpart funding for Universal Basic Education in 2022 and 2024. Road construction is ongoing in all 16 local governments, transforming Ekiti State into a hub of construction activity.
